SUMMARY:Toledo Symphony: Rite of Spring
DESCRIPTION:Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle | 8 p.m. \nRita Barbour Kern Masterworks \nOne hundred seventy-six years before the scandalous premiere of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring\, composer Jean-Féry Rebel was indeed rebelling against the baroque style with his cacophony of dense chords that turned chaos into the creation of the world around us. John Tavener’s Eternity’s Sunrise provides a moment of calm before Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.

The reason for this is that we have a ton of bars\, drink specials\, and other things going on\, but we don’t have a set agenda. The reason we don’t have a “bar 1\, bar 2\, bar 3” format is because most of the time our crawls are so large that many of the bars are not large enough for the whole group. If 500 people show up to one bar at the same time\, you would have to wait an hour just to get one drink! \nSPECIALS WILL BE ADDED WHEN RECEIVED (TYPICALLY 1-2 WEEKS BEFORE EVENT!)\nDOWNTOWN JOHNNY’S\nHOMESLICE PIZZA\nTABLE FORTY 4\n$2 Bud Light Bottles | $4 Green Tea & White Tea Shots | $6 Irish Car Bombs \nTHE ALLEYWAY\n$2 Busch Light Cans | $4 Lemon Drop Shots | $4 Purple Gatorade Shots | $6 Irish Car Bombs \nTIN CAN TOLEDO\nYE OLDE COCK N BULL\n$1 Jell-O Shots | $4 Green Beer | $6 Fuzzy Leprechaun \nSt. Patty’s Day Goodie Bags to the First 100 Crawlers! \n💚AFTER PARTY💚\n10PM-12AM\nAll of our After Parties are chosen to be the best late night atmosphere\, typically there is a DJ or Band. Remember when our after party starts\, most of our deals and specials end with the other bars on the crawl. So don’t be late and get to the after party! Don’t forget your friends\, and don’t forget to plan a safe and sober way home!\nTABLE FORTY 4

SUMMARY:Toledo Symphony: The Planets
DESCRIPTION:Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle | March 22-23 \n8 p.m. \nRita Barbour Kern Masterworks \nIn the spring of 2024\, Toledo will be in the direct viewing path of a total solar eclipse. To celebrate this phenomenon\, the Toledo Symphony has commissioned ADJ*ective New Music – a composers’ collective with ties to Toledo – to compose a suite of new planets. Paired with Gustav Holts’ Planets with stunning visuals from KV 265\, this program explores both the scientific mysteries of space and our planets and the human imagination of what lies beyond our world.

SUMMARY:Aaron Lewis
DESCRIPTION:Stranahan Theater | 7:30 p.m. \nDoors: 6:30 pm\nTickets: $39.50 to $99.50 at etix.com or Stranahan Theater box office. \nAaron Lewis grew up in Springfield\, Vermont\, listening to his grandparents’ country 8-tracks. Those roots inspired the multi-platinum Staind founder to return to his origins for the #1 Billboard Country Album debut Town Line and Sinner\, as well as Billboard’s #1 Hot Country Song debut “Am I The Only One\,” only the 9th time since 1958. \nHaving recorded with George Jones\, Willie Nelson\, Charlie Daniels\, Alison Krauss and Vince Gill\, Lewis has put a traditionalist brand on his outlier country. His latest album\, Frayed At Both Ends\, offers the hard touring/15-million selling workingman’s country star at his most personal and unplugged – making for an intimate record that reflects his 2024 acoustic tour.

SUMMARY:Imagination Station Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
DESCRIPTION:Imagination Station | 3 p.m. \nPath Through Ohio | 3:12 PM \nPeople within a 124-mile-wide band in Ohio will bear witness to the total solar eclipse. Many major cities are in the path of totality\, including Toledo. Make your plans now as hundreds of thousands of people are expected to make their way to the region to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event. \nThe total solar eclipse will begin at 3:08 pm\, with the final exit of the Moon’s shadow from the state at 3:19 pm. \nTotality in Toledo begins at 3:12 pm and will last for nearly two minutes and a partial eclipse will be visible before and after. Plus\, the moon will be relatively closer to the Earth during the 2024 eclipse allowing it to be larger and last longer in duration. \nThe last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806. The next total solar eclipse in Ohio will be in the year 2099. \nThe Weather\nApril weather in Ohio can sometimes pose a challenge. Ideally\, an eclipse viewer will want crystal clear skies for the biggest wow factor. But\, even if it’s cloudy\, you will still experience some of the other phenomena like darkness\, drops in temperatures and changes in wildlife behavior.
