The Toledo Tattoo Festival offers a selection of over 200 of the best artists from all over the world right here in Toledo for three days of tattooing\, art making\, merch selling\, and much more. \nAt the Festival\, attendees will have the opportunity to get tattooed from traveling and local artists alike. Many artists will book the festival in advance\, but there will be opportunities each day to find artists that are taking walk up tattoos on a first come first serve basis. \nIf you do not want to get tattooed over the weekend you will not be short of entertainment. Artists and vendors alike will be selling merchandise\, there will be contests where you can enter your tattoos that you have previously collected\, watch contests take place\, and see some of the best artists from across the globe practice their craft. \nTattoo artists will have the opportunity to buy supplies from a variety of vendors for use at the festival and to take back to their home shop. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free artist talk with internationally renowned glass artists Eduardo Portillo and Maria Davila. Learn about their creative process\, inspiration\, and GAPP residency at the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Studios. \nMaría Dávila and Eduardo Portillo are artists who use fiber as their main medium of expression. Their work revolves around the interconnectedness of their experiences with people\, places\, and landscapes\, as well as the materials and processes that bear the imprint of their searches. Their educations in China and India have been crucial for their approach to their work that has been exhibited internationally. Their work is part of public and private collections worldwide\, including the Whitworth Art Gallery\, UK; Longhouse Reserve\, NY; the Cooper Hewitt; Smithsonian Design Museum\, NY; the Toledo Museum of Art\, OH; and the Art Institute of Chicago. They received the Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship in 2017. In recent years they have been working on an imagined cosmos that they found in the mountains of Mérida\, a part of the Venezuelan Andes\, where they live.

DESCRIPTION:Downtown Toledo | September 20-22 \nJoin us for the 2024 Momentum Festival. This year’s festival will be on N. Superior St.\, between Madison Ave. and Adams St.\, with both indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to explore. The goal is to utilize Toledo’s fabric and architecture to create a sense of density\, focus\, and intimacy. This space provides an opportunity to utilize both streetscape and the first-floor area of much of the block’s building stock for activation by artists and creatives with the goal of creating accessible creative spaces. \nThe Local Artist Exhibition will provide venues for shared experience and connection for our local artists. Anchor Art – large-scale\, interactive\, and spectacle artworks – will be placed throughout the event to encourage moments of discovery for attendees. The Momentum | Intersection glass exhibition will open Friday at the Toledo Museum of Art’s Glass Pavilion. An Artist Market will be set up Saturday & Sunday with work available for purchase from local sellers. Performances of all types and a Film Showcase will happen throughout the weekend. \nWith many local performing\, visual\, and literary artists participating in this year’s festival\, we look forward to using this time to develop meaningful connections between creatives. Attendees will be able to explore some hidden gems in Downtown Toledo\, see the innovative Momentum | Intersection exhibition\, and experience all that Toledo’s creative community has to offer. \nSomething for Everyone\nStarted in 2017\, Momentum is an annual festival that celebrates our vibrant community through arts and culture.
