1:00 p.m.— Made to Measure Presenter, Betsy Bashore
An interactive session on taking your measurements for period garments and understanding ease in early 19th century dressmaking and tailoring. Participants will have a chance to complete a measurement sheet and understand how to apply measures to period patterns, as well as how to apply these measures to simple fitting techniques.
Participants should bring a measuring tape and, for the session, wear relatively lightweight or close-fitting garments (e.g. wear a t-shirt under a sweater or sweatshirt). If female participants wish to take measurements over a corset, they should bring their period underpinnings as well.
