The Assembly Line, a contemporary art project, opens September 12 at the historic Produce Lofts, coinciding with the Toledo Museum of Art’s Block Party and in dialogue with its current exhibition “Infinite Images: The Art of Algorithms.” The group exhibition spans 50 years of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, works on paper, textiles, glass, and digital media. Fifteen artists, from emerging voices to renowned figures, explore the ways innovation, structure, and material can be transformed into new forms. From early computer programs and studio production lines to today’s decentralized AI collectives, the exhibition traces how artists have engaged with the mechanics of labor, authorship, and visual culture across generations and continents.
