Lucas SWCD Native Plant Sale
May 16, 2025 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
- FreeLucas Soil & Water Conservation District (Lucas SWCD) is excited to once again offer garden enthusiasts and plant lovers a chance to buy locally-grown native plants this spring! All are welcome to come to our office on May 16th between 3-6 PM to not only buy native plants, but also other items like rain barrels, composting kits, garden signs, soil test kits, and more. The event is free, rain or shine, and open to everyone. Supplies are limited and no sales prior to 3 PM.
We will also have other partner agencies’ information tables and food trucks this year. New items for this year’s sale include Native Pollinator Garden Kits as well as the ability to pick-up pre-ordered garden compost from GoZERO.
If you are wondering what makes a plant “native”, it means that it is a specific species of plant that has grown naturally in this area for many years and is accustomed to our climate, soils, and precipitation. In addition, the wildlife we have here are dependent upon the native plants that they have co-existed with for many, many years. Adding native plants to the landscape is one way we can all help the environment.
