About the author

Ruta Sepetys is an internationally acclaimed, author of historical fiction published in over sixty countries and forty languages. Often referred to as a “seeker of lost stories,” she has won or been shortlisted for over forty book prizes, including the Carnegie Medal.

Her novels, including Between Shades of Gray, Salt to the Sea, and The Fountains of Silence, are known for uncovering dark or forgotten corners of history and making them accessible to readers of all ages.
