Treasures Unearthed, The Toledo Gem and Rockhound Club’s (TGRC) 53rd annual rock, gem & jewelry show returns to Bowling Green, OH, from September 6 through 8, 2024, at the Wood County Fairgrounds. More than 30 vendors will be bringing breath-taking gems, glorious crystals and rare specimens from around the world. Artists will display and offer their hand-made jewelry creations.
Live demonstrations include Extreme Beaders making ornate, intricate jewelry by hand, using beads and gemstones. Ancient tool-making techniques will be shown by flint artisan Steve Laut, who makes knives and arrowheads from stone.
Visitors are also invited to bring their unidentified stones to “What’s My Rock?” Geology students from Bowling Green State University will work to identify if the samples are jewels or junk.
Educational events for youths include make-and-take gem tree creation, a treasure hunt with prizes, and ultra-violet experiments with mysterious rocks that glow in unearthly colors.
With all the gems, crystals, fossils, rocks and jewelry specimens on display from around the world, visitors will enjoy literally tons of fun!
